coffee breath

Seagulls emerging from the morning mist like,
frozen snow soaring through the clouds.
Like snowballs storm-trooping the bullies of yesterday.
Beware, you will only see them whence they are about to claw your eyes out.
Seagulls emerging from the morning mist like,
Flowers floating, wandering for a place to caress their fragile petals,
Like families wrapped up in scarfs flying their children to their first class.
Bon voyage!
Cars, looking so icy makes me wonder about that extent of frozen therapy.
Like the icy cars will transform,
shaking off the frost and reaching high for the abyss.
Honestly all looks so cosy and peaceful,
like the calm before the storm,
Like the calm before the gazing spring sun.
Me, all cosy and warm,
With my coffee breath all tucked in the silence of my head.
No need to speak as all that's been said is wrapped up in forgiveness of yesterday's gift.
Niwega Ngai, for another day, another day to pave my way,
Carve my steps and connect to where I once came.
Cough out the breaths of yesterday,
that held words we could have said to avoid the pain of another kid,
and another,
and another. Day to give us the chance
to voice the unsaid, voice the words that can change the world.
Voice the words that scare us.
Then our coffee breath will be spread,
sharing the moments of silence in our head.
Rippling through the misty air,
Healing the despair.
Waking the sleepy.
Tormenting those who don’t like coffee.
We all know what calls after a cup of coffee ;)
